I left this summer Oregon wedding feeling so humbled and grateful for a job that allows me to witness so much joy, grace, happiness, fellowship, and beauty. It was the most amazing reminder of what life is all about. Love. I’ve never experienced a wedding so full of emotion or faith, and I woke up feeling so unbelievably thankful to have been a small part of it all.
I actually photographed Alayna’s high school senior photos, so it was crazy photographing her wedding. I’ve even taken her family’s photos a few times, too, and her sister Joanna (the owner of Good Seed Floral, who I work with often) is one of my best friends! I’ve known this family for about 6 years now, and they’ve all become so incredibly special to me.
Josh + Alayna, you radiate God’s love and you love everyone around you so selflessly. I am so grateful for our friendship, and even though I wasn’t willing to jump in the pool with you (scroll to the bottom for that 11pm surprise hah). Sorry about unknowingly having us all walk through poison oak, but the photos were worth it haha!
This day was seriously one I will never EVER forget. I felt like I was truly a part of this wedding, and not at all working it. It was such a celebratory day, full of all the emotion and joy you can imagine.
Sweet Words From the Couple
Getting to edit this gallery was seriously so much fun, and I cried when A + J sent me their reaction to seeing their photos for the first time:
“Wow. Monique, those are absolutely everything and more than I could have ever dreamed of. I can’t even explain to you the kind of peace I felt while looking through those pictures! You are such an incredibly talented woman, and we were so so sooo blessed that you chose to have us. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Every picture felt like all the details I hoped for in our day, you knew how to photograph us as a FRIEND. These are so amazing, and I cherish them so much. Thank you. Thank you thank you. I truly can’t thank you enough!”
I met this family because of my job, and now they’re forever some of my closest friends. I’ll never take that aspect of this career for granted ?”
