I am so excited to blog this shoot with J Petite from my last visit to Arizona! The entire state was a dream, but Sedona? It was like another world. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything more beautiful!

I contacted Jessica a few weeks before my trip, and just asked if she would be up to shoot. This amazing woman went out of her way to find a dream location, and contacted a boutique shop for clothing (Vida Moulin)! Not only that… but we left Mesa around 4:00am to catch sunrise!

We drove 2 hours, and even though it was our first time actually meeting, it felt like we had been best friends forever! Our mutual love of Dancing With The Stars (Team Val, absolutely), liquid lipstick, and photography kept the conversations rolling. We also spent a good amount of time talking about life, love, marriage, kids, politics… and everything else you can think of! The 4 hour total drive felt like 30 minutes! And I’m so grateful, because if you didn’t already know, I get unbelievably car sick.

We got to Sedona around 6:30am, just after sunset. I was SUCH a tourist, and showed up in vacation summer type clothes (heck, it’s Arizona, right!?). Well, it was about 30 degrees, and I was ridiculously freezing! Thankfully, Jess had a spare jacket (here I am complaining, while she was twirling around in two light dresses!). There was not a single other person around, and it was so peacefully quiet and serene.

Jess moved like a pro, and I didn’t even have to direct her at all! This girl knows how to work a camera!

I am so grateful for this opportunity, and because of this shoot (and hash tagging on IG!), I booked a BEAUTIFUL wedding in Arizona, next month! I can’t wait to go back in a few short weeks!
