Happy Monday! We spent the last few days over in Sunriver, in a rental cabin, with my family! One of my 2018 goals, if not the goal of all goals, is to really devote more of myself to my family. I am so honored to do something I absolutely love, but working from home can be both a blessing and a curse. With baby girl coming in just a few short months, Ive really begun to prioritize what’s most important to me in my life, which is my family. I want to spend as much time with my son, before he has to share mom and dad, as possible! So, no more working Sundays, no more taking seniors, and I’m really limiting the work I do take on (which is also hugely beneficial to my clients, because YOU get more of me too!).
Anyway! Back to this post, and why you’re all here 😉 After our trip ended, my son took a long nap, and my husband took on all the household duties so I could work a bit! (This just in, my son’s daycare ended last week because of our provider having some health problems, so this full time working mama is now struggling to get in those hours with a wild 2 year old at home!). I’ve been meaning to blog for EVER… as you all probably know. I just sort of am awful at it. I have so much to say! haha It takes quite a while for me to get one of these babies up. Nonetheless, you all request blogs often, and I know that when I was a bride, searching for our wedding photographer, I loved scouring blogs! It’s just a useful way to see how a photographer captures an entire day, rather than just a handful of sneaks on social media. So, the Peterson wedding is my first (of several!) wedding blog of 2018, and I think you’ll fall in love with Michael and Danae as quickly as I did!
Danae is a woman who’s joy and happiness genuinely lights up a room. Her smile is SO radiant, and you can almost feel her presence. She and I became immediate friends, and she will never be a “client” or “bride” to me, but instead, always a good friend. She’s weathered so much this past year, and has really opened up to me, trusting me as if we were lifelong besties. I feel honored to have her in my life, and I will forever be grateful that her wedding is what connected us! Add in Michael… the most selfless, kind, FUNNY, authentic, doesn’t care what anything thinks, true to himself guy, ever! You can tell a lot by a person by their friends, and who they hangout with, and just judging Michael on his groomsmen… I could tell you that he’s a man with a good heart, not afraid to have a good time! 😉 Together, Michael and Danae are unstoppable. They’ve been knocked down, and together, lifted each other up. They have such a beautiful future ahead, and I feel so grateful I get to be a small part of their story.
I love you Mr. and Mrs. Peterson! Thank you for the laughs, the dance moves, the hugs, the memories (from locking my keys in my car at your engagement shoot, to screaming when I saw the snake on your wedding day, to bawling when you said your vows), and the opportunity and immense honor of being your wedding photographer!
Just a note: I use the same second shooter 90% of the time. She was a college student who used to nanny Parker, and I spent an entire year training her to exclusively work as my second shooter. However, this wedding was one that she was unavailable for, so I turned to my beautiful friend Nikki (http://www.nicolebriannphotography.com) to be my trusted second! She killed it, and I’m so thankful for her help this day!
